Relay Recruitment is donating the money it usually spends on Christmas cards to charity instead, and has organised a special trolley dash to this end.
Enlisting Bradford City striker, Dean Saunders, the company gave the footballer 60 seconds to pluck as many toys as possible from the shelves of the Toys R Us store in Birstall, Leeds.

His haul, which was valued at more than £1000, was presented to Jane Clifton of Barnardos Castle Project. The charity helps children suffering from life-threatening illness and their families, and the toys will make welcome stocking-fillers for them.
Says Relay managing director, Steven Street, We took this course because everyone in the company thought it was more in keeping with the spirit of the season than just adding to the weight of paper and card that lands on executives desks every December.
It is something that more companies should consider. Apart from the fact that worthwhile causes benefit, this event has been a lot of fun and much easier to organise than commissioning, signing and mailing out over a thousand cards.
From now on, Bradford and Leeds-based Relay will stage a charity effort every Christmas. The move has been greeted with great enthusiasm by clients, and several have committed themselves to adopting the idea next year.
