APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
July 2003
West Yorkshire’s Relay Recruitment has appointed supply-teacher specialist, Matthew Howes, to head up its new Education Division.

Formerly with Kelly Educational Staffing and with a background in education recruitment advertising, Matt will roll out the new operation across the group from its Bradford headquarters.
He intends to match the success of other Relay divisions by “creating a new standard of supply agency” and has been proactive in involving schools and teachers in the process from the outset.

Matt’s focus on quality means that teachers who approach Relay will only be taken on subject to high performance at interview and strong references.
His lean business model ensures that all staff will be paid in line with appropriate government pay scales, whilst schools will benefit from exemplary service levels, a partnership approach and an ethical pricing policy where discounts for long-term bookings are standard.

He says, "I was attracted to Relay’s strong branding, innovation and highly effective marketing communications. It is a company with big-business capabilities and small-business accountability."

“I am very excited about the future. The Education Division will benefit from the resources and reputation that an established group can offer, whilst I have been given complete autonomy to create a package for both schools and teachers that will be unsurpassed.”
