2004 News:
RELAY WINS - AGAIN!
April 2004
Company’s third national award

Relay has won the Best Recruitment Marketing Campaign category at the prestigious national Recruiter Awards for Excellence 2004.
Presented by Clive Anderson at a glittering ceremony attended by the cream of the recruitment industry, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, it is the latest plaudit for a company that already has a bulging trophy cabinet.

We took top honours at the Recruitment Employment Confederation Awards twice in three years - an achievement that has yet to be matched – and these have now been joined by a third national award.

Entries Up On Last Year
Competition for a 2004 Recruiter gong was fiercer than ever before – entries were up forty per cent on last year.  Relay managing director, Steven Street, said: "We are thrilled to have yet another endorsement from our industry for an ongoing campaign that we work so hard to make fresh and effective. Clear, memorable, useful communications with candidates and clients are vital – for them and us!

“This victory is made even sweeter by the fact that our fellow nominees are all national or international players, with enviable resources and huge marketing budgets."

Recruiter Awards judges are major players in the HR/recruitment world: head of recruitment, Royal Mail, Peter Bedford; head of HR sourcing, Barclays, John Cullen; HR director, TubeLines, Andy Good; HR director, the Football Association, Paul Nolan; HR director, Thresher Group, Liz Nottingham; and HR director, L'Oreal, Nikki Rolfe.

Exceptionally High Quality
The judging panel defined our campaign as being of exceptionally high quality - taking in a range of memorable communications devices; from football shirts and intriguing events to innovative postcard campaigns and e-shots.

An aspect of the programme they particularly loved was the attractive and collectible mail outs and leave-behinds - such as invitation/briefing packs for early morning seminars that that came in the form of breakfast cartons or wash bags, complete with shampoo, toothbrush, soap and the legend 'No flannel, just facts!'

The judges concluded that the campaign was highly inventive, executed with zeal and hugely impactful.

While we work hard to ensure our vehicles are neither trite nor contrived, the aim is to bring a sense of fun to communicating the very best HR services - and not to rely on flattery or by pitching for the lowest rates.
