Relay Recruitment and Princes Soft Drinks would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as part of the team. Princes are recognised as a market leading manufacturer of soft drinks and food.

On Arrival
You will have been advised of the contact name of your supervisor by the team at Relay. Please report punctually where you will be directed to your place of work. If you arrive at work at any other time make your way to the production area and ask for your supervisor.
Traffic Maintenance
Parking is available to the rear of the reception building. All vehicles are left at the owners risk. Please do not park in any bays designated for Visitors or Directors. There are facilities for chaining bicycles.
Timekeeping
Normal hours of work are:
Continentals: 7:00am to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 7:00am, Mon-Sun on a rotating basis. You will work every other weekend and a combination of days and nights, usually averaging 42 hours per week.
Absence
You have been advised of the date and time at which you are required to attend work. It is crucial that you report for work punctually. All absences or intended lateness must be reported to the Relay office giving 24 hours notice. Failure to do so will lead to a replacement being assigned to your shift and your exclusion from further work. In the event that you are unable to attend work for whatever reason you must call the 24 hour number 07880 556839 before your shift commences and advise the Relay office of your likely return. This will ensure that we are able to communicate your reasons for absence to Princes. In these circumstances every effort will be made to ensure that you are able to return to work when you again become available. You may be required to produce a doctors note stating you are fit to return to work if you have been absent due to illness, particularly flu or food poisoning.
Please note, most of the factory work on the Continental Shift System. You will be provided with your shift pattern on commencing your assignment. Working time is recorded by a register. You must ensure that you make a representative of Princes aware of your presence. Failure to comply with timekeeping rules may lead to delays with processing your pay.
Appearance & Conduct
All staff are liable to come into contact with important visitors to Princes. To maintain the professional image of the company you are requested to report for work in a neat and tidy manner. No personal calls are allowed during work hours and no mobile phones are permitted in the production areas. In case of emergency, messages should be left with Relay Recruitment. The company accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. Coin-operated lockers are provided for your use.
Whilst working at Princes you must not divulge any confidential information to anyone outside the company unless authorised to do so. Upon leaving your placement you must return any property belonging to Princes and/or Relay Recruitment immediately or a charge will be levied.
If you require any leave/time off work we require twice the notice of the intended period to be taken. For assistance or information please do not hesitate to contact a member of Relay Recruitment. If you go on holiday outside the EU you may be asked to visit a doctor to prove you have a clean bill of health. This is to prevent the spread of any illness or disease in a food environment. You are forbidden to consume any product that is in the production area.

You will be required to undertake a number of tasks. There follows an overview of the duties you are likely to be assigned to:
Machine Operative
Working on fast-moving production lines and machines. Most of the production is automated from manufacturing the bottles through to filling, labelling, and packing the finished product. You will be required to load and mind the machines, inspect the product at every stage and complete some tasks manually, such as re-labelling or packing. You will work in one of three departments: Carbonates, Dilutes or Zeus. You will be standing for the majority of the day.
Syrup Room Operative
You will assist with the measuring and weighing of raw ingredients to make the drinks. You will be required to pay attention to detail, and work closely in a small team. Some heavy lifting is involved. The environment can be dusty as you are working with powders. The maintenance of standards of
cleanliness and hygiene is essential.
FLT
You will be responsible for the movement and distribution of goods from the end of the production lines to the warehouse in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with loading and unloading deliveries and ensuring that all stock is dealt with in an appropriate manner. You may be required to work in the production areas in addition to any FLT work. In all departments good housekeeping is essential.

Princes are the main supplier of soft drinks to major supermarkets, such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys. Every product must meet the suppliers and retailers high standards.

Smoking Policy
Princes operate a strict no smoking policy across the site. Smoking is only permitted within the designated smoking cabins and in no other area. Please do not take any smoking materials into the production area. Failure to comply with this policy will result in instant dismissal.
Health & Safety
It is the companys policy to provide a safe and healthy working environment for everyone on site. The safety rules are set out for your protection. Please ensure that you report any unsafe conditions or practices. You must report every on the job injury, no matter how slight, to your team leader/supervisor at once. All cuts must be covered by a blue elastoplast. The accident book is maintained by the First Aiders and it is your responsibility to ensure any injuries are recorded. Any breach will be taken very seriously by the company and will lead to your exclusion from the assignment.
Fire Evacuation
Should you hear the fire alarm, you must immediately evacuate the building. Do not collect belongings. Make your way to the nearest fire assembly point. A fire alarm test is conducted every Saturday morning between 9:30 and 10:00am.
Safety Rules
All staff will be inducted prior to placement in the factory where you will receive advice on company policies and best hygiene practice. You will be required to fill in a training form and given a brief tour of the work areas, fire exits and facilities. Upon starting your assignment you will be provided with a cap, jacket and trousers. Payment for the uniform will be deducted in 3 weekly instalments from your wage. Please ask a member of Relay staff if you require additional workwear. Steel toecapped footwear should be worn at all times in the production area. (Note that steel toecapped footwear must be worn during you Induction). Anyone not wearing appropriate clothing and footwear when required to do so will be instantly dismissed. Safety rules are for your protection. Please read the following and apply to your everyday working environment.

Use designated walkways to avoid forklift trucks and to move around the production area. Do not climb over the production lines.
